Ali Beletic’s print series, Element of Sensual Spectacle, utilizes her ability to blend sensual depth with modern processes, exploring the canon of experience through an expressive interplay between beautiful chromatic infinite depth, and glitchy post-modern punk details. Visceral in experience, yet cerebral in their exploration of the spectral conceptual scales structure and chaos, analogue and digital, monochrome and polychrome, textural and smooth, minimalism and maximalism.
Known for her large-scale sculptures and her capacity to merge disparate elements into cohesive experiential statements, Beletic applies the same ethos to this collection of prints. These pieces distill her signature approach—bold hues, pluralistic philosophy, and monumental scale—into two-dimensional compositions that utilize the boundaries of abstraction, to create a luminous experiential simple, yet resonant awe.
The prints themselves are a synthesis of old and new, embodying Beletic’s fascination with materiality and the subversion of traditional forms. They incorporate pigments made from iron oxides that absorb light and create warm hues, as physically and emotionally in opposition to pigments such as silver nitrate-infused medium that reflect and refract ambient light,
alongside hyper-modern spray paint, digital composition, and archival print techniques. This juxtaposition is not merely aesthetic but intellectual: a deliberate dialogue between the handcrafted and the industrial, the primal and the refined, presence and absence.
